A sustainable solution to a sytemic problem.

Collective Impact

“Collaboration is nothing new. The social sector is filled with examples of partnerships, networks, and other types of joint efforts. But collective impact initiatives are distinctly different.”

–Kania and Kramer, Essentials of Social Innovation: Collective Impact, Stanford Social innovation Review

Large scale, persistent systemic social problems, like poverty and inequity, require systemic solutions. For this reason, LETS GO is committed to the practice of collective impact. The collective impact of organizations working together has proven to be greater than the sum of the individual impacts of organizations working in relative isolation.

LETS GO’s mission is to “break the cycle of poverty through STEM education and workforce development.” We realize that there are many challenges affecting our students and their families that are beyond the capacity and expertise of LETS GO. To address those challenges, LETS GO continually seeks to collaborate with other organizations and individuals to provide the holistic, wrap-around support our students and families need and deserve.

We are committed to the creation and sustainability of the five conditions for successful collective impact as defined by Kania and Kramer in the 2011 paper1 “that together produce true alignment and lead to powerful results.” The conditions are:

  • Common Agenda
  • Shared Measurement System
  • Mutually Reinforcing Activities
  • Continuous Communications
  • Backbone Support Organization

LETS GO is uniquely positioned to contribute our expertise and resources in three specific areas:

  • STEM education
  • Workforce development
  • Measuring and reporting outputs and outcomes to provide evidence of mission success.

The LETS GO team actively seeks collaboration with other organizations and individuals also committed to creating equity in opportunities for students and families living in under-resourced communities.
