2020-2021 FIRST® LEGO League Season Kicks-off
LETS GO STEM Assistant Instructor VaShaun Davis leads the virtual kickoff event.

On Thursday, October 8th, LETS GO hosted a virtual FIRST® LEGO League Kick Off event for students and families in SE DC. The purpose of this event was to introduce youth at Washington School for Girls, FBR Boys and Girls Club, and FAN Youth Organization to FIRST® LEGO League Challenge Robotics. Several instructors and administrators from these partner sites also attended to learn about the program and show support.  During the event, students were taught about the key elements of the program. They explored FIRST’s Core Values, completed a brief coding activity, and discussed ways that they would engineer solutions to a community problem. Students also had the opportunity to hear from a former FIRST® LEGO League team member and coach.  At the close of the event, two free STEM2home Explore Boxes were won in a raffle by students Garrison Graham and Armani Barlow!
