Throughout the week of September 21st LETS GO delivered 40 STEM2home Explore Boxes to students at TC Henderson Elementary in Lake Toxaway, North Carolina.
LETS GO created the STEM2home Explore Box program in response to school closures due to COVID-19. It was important for us to be able to provide our partners with a flexible STEM curriculum that would allow students to have access to hands-on learning in an entirely virtual or remote setting. Each box contains several experiments and activities that teach concepts in chemistry, physics, and engineering.
Teachers at TC Henderson were trained by LETS GO’s Kandace Shields on how to conduct the experiments and teach the STEM concepts that were featured in each of the boxes. After facilitating some of the activities with her students TC Henderson Instructor Nicole Cash was delighted with the program
LETS GO will continue to offer virtual support to instructors at TC Henderson as they need it for the duration of the program. This is one of several satellite partners LETS GO has participated in to deliver on its mission to break cycle of poverty through STEM education and workforce development.
