Planning & Capacity Building

STEM Curriculum

Our diverse curriculum is built on an inquiry-based learning approach that teaches students the value of 21st-century skills as conveyable tools that can be used inside and outside of the classroom to solve the problems of today.

Whether developed externally or by LETS GO, the curriculum is designed to enhance both STEM content knowledge and abilities such as critical thinking, teamwork, and communication.

STEM Scholars Program

The LETS GO STEM Scholars Program provides youth who demonstrate STEM interest and identity with opportunities to participate in enriched STEM activities, school and career exploration, and family engagement events designed to further develop their motivation to pursue a career in STEM.

Youth who demonstrate interest and identity in STEM participate in our STEM Scholars Program. This program is designed to strengthen youth and family recognition that STEM learning and workforce skill development can lead to their long-term economic stability and success. We achieve this through STEM college and career guest speakers and field trips, family engagement events, internship and school choice coaching, and ongoing mentorship.

Another core element of the STEM Scholars Program is the opportunity for youth to excel on a competitive STEM team. Participation demands persistence, discipline, rigor, a cooperative spirit, and a high level of STEM learning motivation. LETS GO proudly offers nationally-recognized teams for elementary, middle, and high school age youth such as FIRST Robotics, Science Olympiad, and SeaPerch. In Spring 2020, LETS GO responded to COVID-19 by launching STEM2home to inspire distance learners to engage with authentic STEM education and workforce development in home settings. Our STEM2home interventions present solutions to mitigate disruptions to student learning in communities with limited and inequitable access to adequate technology. STEM2home learning activities consist of material distribution for synchronous and asynchronous hands-on, minds-on learning as well as professional development to empower our partners and families to best support their students.
