The LETS GO STEM Scholars Program provides additional STEM learning experiences, educational resources, and support outside of the classroom to underserved students as they journey on their STEM pathway.. The program is designed to keep students who have exhibited an interest and identity in STEM learning engaged throughout their educational trajectory.
“I have been a part of LETS GO since my senior year of high school. As I enter the first semester of my sophomore year (in college), I continue to build a relationship with them in which I share my passions and goals…Through the program, I have been provided opportunities to explore my interests in STEM through partnered programs like Girls Who Code and two engineering internships with the Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD). Once interested in computer science and programming, but now I expand my passion for user experience design (UXD) with the program through the opportunities they provide me. During my recent internship that LETS GO introduced me to, I satisfied a personal goal of seeking integration of my major in STEM careers. I intend on becoming a UX Designer with hopes of integrating empathy into engineering.”
