LETS GO Boys and Girls (LETS GO) is a nonprofit organization committed to breaking the cycle of poverty through STEM education and workforce development. In partnership with Title I K-12 schools and youth organizations, we build equitable, relevant, and engaging programs that prepare historically underrepresented groups of students for the STEM-powered workforce. We are seeking a Program Coordinator to join our dedicated team offering Baltimore students engaging hands-on, minds-on STEM and workforce development learning opportunities within our partnering organizations. The successful candidate must be based in or near Baltimore City, comfortable with teaching 9-12th grade students, and will be expected to provide virtual and in-person learning opportunities. This position is a combination of remote and on-site work.

As a Program Coordinator, you will:

– Be an active member of the Workforce Development (WFD) Team

  • Work collaboratively with WFD Director, WFD Manager, and other regional WFD Program Coordinators to develop and deliver on short- and long-term goals and objectives using an agreed-upon growth strategy

– Facilitate Out-Of-School High School Program

  • Instruct youth during out-of-school time hours using the curriculum to support STEM career pathways at local Baltimore City high schools
  • Create or curate curriculum and other experiential learning opportunities related to workforce readiness and STEM career pathways
  • Recruit and retain youth for programs and activities, including participants from other LETS GO STEM programs
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with youth and their families, including facilitating youth/family information sessions
  • Coordinate logistics with vendors and prepare and maintain supplies for events and programs
  • Recruit and manage contracted educators to support the direct delivery of instructional programs
  • Maintain relationships with Baltimore City Public School (BCPSS) staff, administration, and counselors to ensure program efficacy

– Support Internship Placement Program

  • Lead Essential Skills/Soft Skill Workshops with students
  • Execute agreements between internship sites, families, and students
  • Manage logistics with vetted internships sites
  • Participate in status reviews with corporate, public, and private entities offering internship and apprenticeship opportunities

– Implement Summer Assistant Instructor Program

  • Coordinate Program Logistics with partner sites and Mayors Office Employment and Development (MOED)/YouthWorks
  • Recruit and train youth participants
  • Plan and schedule daily and weekly responsibilities, content, and curriculum for youth participants
  • Manage summer ‘Job Coaches’ and program implementation

– Other Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with the Baltimore Team on shared initiatives
  • Support program evaluation, including community input and feedback, student and site data collection, and student tracking, to assure continuous program improvement
  • Maintain relationships with students after program completion to track outcomes and impact
  • Perform administrative support duties and other duties as assigned

Our ideal candidate will have a:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, social services, counseling or a STEM/STEM-related field
  • Minimum 3 years experience working in education, youth development, or another student support setting
  • Experience working with high school age youth preferred
  • Bi-lingual Spanish is a plus
  • Solid time management and organizational skills
  • Strong sense of integrity
  • Passion for mission achievement
  • A well-developed set of “people person” skills
  • Creative and flexible approach to problem-solving
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Google Workplace, and general comfort with learning new software
  • Ability to work independently, yet know when to seek help
  • Reliable personal transportation and comfortable driving to sites within the city and county and transporting materials needed for program delivery. Must supply proof of auto insurance.
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination required

This full-time hourly position offers a starting salary between $40,000 to $42,500 depending on education and professional experience. In addition to positive organizational culture, our benefits include:
